Care

At Esvee Atelier, we craft each piece with the intention that it will serve for generations. Because we work with living, organic materials, the beauty of your furniture will evolve over time. This guide is designed to help you steward your commission as it settles into your home.
The character of our work lies in its natural origin. Variations in grain, texture, and tone are markers of authenticity.
  • As a living material, solid wood expands and contracts with seasonal shifts. Our designs purposefully account for this breathability. You may observe minor movement as your piece acclimates to your environment; this is a natural settling process.
  • Due to the artisanal nature of our workshop, slight variations in finish may occur, ensuring no two pieces are identical.

Solid Wood
  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry, lint-free microfiber cloth to maintain the grain’s luster.
  • Always utilize coasters or felt mats. Avoid placing hot or wet objects directly on the wood surface to prevent thermal or moisture rings.
  • To prevent premature aging or warping, keep your furniture away from direct sunlight, high-humidity zones, and heat sources like radiators or fireplaces.
  • Avoid the use of household chemicals, waxes, or abrasive cleaners, which can compromise our specialized finishes.
Architectural Brass
  • Brass ages with a quiet grace. Over time, it may develop a natural "patina"—a darkening that adds depth and character.
  • To maintain a bright luster, wipe gently with a dry microfiber cloth. Regular cleaning minimizes patina formation.
  • If you prefer a polished look, brass elements can be refreshed with "Brasso" liquid.
  • Brasso must not come into contact with wood or fabric, as it may cause permanent damage. We recommend using painter's tape to shield adjacent surfaces before application.
Handling & Movement
To protect the structural joinery and the integrity of your flooring:
  • The Lift Rule: Never move furniture by pushing or dragging it across the floor. Always lift the piece from the primary base or frame—never by the legs or the tabletop—and place it gently into position.
  • Unboxing: Do not store furniture in its original transit packaging long-term. Our pieces require airflow to remain stable within their new environment.
